Rumors are swirling around the much-anticipated release of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, despite no official confirmation from the developers. The buzz began when a now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, which was quickly picked up by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, hinted at the game's arrival on the new console.
"Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," the tweet stated before being removed. It also mentioned that the game had secured a 12+ rating, adding fuel to the speculation.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero elevates the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to new heights. It boasts an "incredible number" of playable characters, each equipped with unique signature abilities, transformations, and techniques that promise an engaging and dynamic experience.
In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded the game a 7/10, describing it as "a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."
Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders kicked off on April 24, maintaining a price point of $449.99. The response was overwhelming, as expected, with pre-orders selling out quickly. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who had pre-ordered from the My Nintendo Store, indicating that due to high demand, release date delivery might not be guaranteed.
