Dune: Awakening's open beta weekend offered players a taste of the first 20-25 hours of gameplay along with various other features. During the Global LAN Party livestream on May 10, participants stumbled upon an exploit that enables players to stun their opponents indefinitely in PvP combat.
The "stunlock exploit" occurs when a player repeatedly uses quick knife attacks on an opponent who has depleted their stamina. This leaves the target unable to defend themselves, use abilities, or escape, effectively trapping them in a continuous state of stagger.
This issue gained widespread attention after being showcased during livestreams by popular streamers Tyler1 and Shroud, highlighting the severity of the exploit.
Funcom Promises Fix Before Launch
During the Global LAN Party livestream, Funcom's developers directly observed the stunlock exploit and promptly addressed the issue.
