by Hannah Nov 01,2025

Elden Ring is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 through its Tarnished Edition, bringing exciting new features including fresh character classes and Torrent cosmetic upgrades.

New Classes and Equipment

During the "FROMSOFTWARE GAMES EVENT Spring 2025" in Tokyo, developers unveiled two new classes for the Tarnished Edition: the "Knight of Ides" and "Heavy Armored Knight." While full details remain scarce, this expanded version will include four new armor sets—two available at launch and two unlockable in-game—along with additional weapons and combat abilities.

Enhanced Mount Customization

Torrent, players' spectral steed, will receive three new cosmetic options. While this content ships with the Tarnished Edition (including Shadow of the Erdtree expansion), FromSoftware confirms these additions will also reach other platforms via the affordable Tarnished Pack DLC.

Perfect for New Switch Players

The fresh content provides excellent incentive for veterans starting new playthroughs on Switch 2. With Elden Ring surpassing 30 million global sales, these enhancements could further boost its impressive performance on Nintendo's upcoming console.

While a specific 2025 release window is confirmed for both the Switch 2 version and cross-platform DLC, exact launch dates remain pending.
