Subtle Clues Before the Announcement

Speculation about Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles has circulated for some time. In an April 2024 interview with The Gamer, Final Fantasy director Naoki Yoshida suggested it was likely time for a new Tactics release. This was reinforced in June 2024 by Bloomberg's reliable reporter Jason Schreier, who commented on a Subreddit that "The Final Fantasy Tactics remaster is real and happening."

More recently, on June 4, Schreier posted cryptic messages on BlueSky about FF Tactics. When a user replied expressing hope for a remake, Schreier clarified with "Remaster," hinting the project is a remastered version.

Meanwhile, fans grew excited when original FF Tactics director and writer Yasumi Matsuno retweeted the official PlayStation Japan post about the upcoming State of Play. He quickly deleted the retweet, but not before fans captured a screenshot, fueling belief that a FF Tactics remaster would be revealed at the June 4 event.
