"Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak: Free 4-Star Character Selector Revealed"

Summary

  • A leak suggests that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector event, featuring four characters to choose from.
  • The leaked characters for the selector are Qingque, Pela, Serval, and Asta, all of which were introduced during the 1.0 cycle.
  • Honkai: Star Rail has been focusing more on releasing 5-star characters, with fewer new 4-star units being added recently.

A new leak has surfaced about Honkai: Star Rail, revealing that Version 3.1 will introduce a free 4-star character selector as part of a limited-time event. As Honkai: Star Rail gears up for its 3.0 cycle, players can expect new gameplay features and characters.

Currently, there are 23 4-star characters available in Honkai: Star Rail. While many of these characters may not rank highly in the meta, certain units like the recently released Moze and Gallagher have gained popularity due to their versatility. However, to maximize their potential, 4-star characters often require higher Eidolon levels. Past updates, such as Versions 2.1 and 2.7, have included free character selectors to help players easily acquire these Eidolons. According to the latest leak, a similar event will return in Version 3.1, allowing players to choose from four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, and Asta.

The leak, shared by the reputable community leaker HomDGCat, suggests that this selector will be part of a time-limited event, similar to those in previous patches. All the characters in the selector were introduced during the 1.0 cycle, with Asta being available for free early in the game. Recent rumors have hinted that all upcoming characters in Honkai: Star Rail will be 5-stars, suggesting that the developer, Amphoreus, might not release new 4-star units soon.

Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases New 4-Star Character Selector in Version 3.1

  • Qingque: Quantum, Erudition
  • Pela: Ice, Nihility
  • Serval: Lightning, Erudition
  • Asta: Fire, Harmony

While Pela and Asta continue to serve as solid support characters, Qingque and Serval have been overshadowed by newer DPS options. All these characters can be purchased through the in-game store. Since the introduction of Penacony, players have noticed a shift in Honkai: Star Rail towards releasing more 5-star characters compared to 4-stars. With nearly 40 five-star characters currently in the game, the gap between the two tiers is significant. Eight more 5-star characters are expected to be introduced with Amphoreus, and a rumored crossover with Fate/Stay Night is set to add two more.

During the 2.0 cycle, only four new 4-star characters were released, including an alternate form of March 7th. It remains to be seen if Amphoreus will continue this trend, but if the leaks are accurate, future 4-star character selectors might struggle to offer new units. Nevertheless, players should anticipate the upcoming Version 3.0, which will introduce the much-anticipated The Herta and Aglaea. To prepare for these new additions, Honkai: Star Rail has recently released new redeem codes for free Stellar Jades and materials.
