Infinity Nikki: A Phenomenal Mobile Gaming Debut
Infinity Nikki shattered expectations, generating nearly $16 million in its first month—a figure exceeding previous Nikki series revenue by more than 40 times. This astounding success is largely attributed to its popularity in China, where it garnered over 5 million downloads.
Following a strong launch, boasting over $1.1 million in revenue on its first day, daily earnings experienced fluctuations. However, a significant upswing followed the release of Version 1.1.
Developed by Infold Games (Papergames in China), Infinity Nikki, launched in December 2024, transports players to the captivating world of Miraland. Players guide Nikki and her cat, Momo, through diverse nations, each with unique cultures. While styling Nikki is central, her outfits possess magical properties crucial for solving puzzles and progressing through the story. These outfits, powered by Whimstars, grant abilities like floating and shrinking.
With 30 million pre-registrations, Infinity Nikki made a substantial impact before launch and continues its reign in the cozy open-world genre. AppMagic data (via Pocket Gamer) reveals impressive weekly earnings: $3.51 million in its first week, $4.26 million in the second, and $3.84 million in the third. While weekly revenue decreased to $1.66 million by the fifth week, the cumulative first-month profit neared $16 million, eclipsing Love Nikki's first-month revenue ($383,000) by over 40 times and significantly outperforming Shining Nikki's 2021 international launch ($6.2 million). These figures, however, only reflect mobile platform earnings.
Infinity Nikki's Record-Breaking Success
China's contribution to Infinity Nikki's success is undeniable, accounting for over 42% of total downloads.
Initial daily revenue peaked at over $1.1 million on December 6th. Subsequent days saw a decline, reaching $787,000 by December 18th. The drop accelerated, falling below $500,000 on December 21st and hitting a low of $141,000 on December 26th. However, the Version 1.1 update spurred a dramatic rebound, with revenue surging to $665,000 on December 30th—almost triple the previous day's earnings.
Infinity Nikki is available for free on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. The developers plan to sustain its momentum with regular seasonal events (like the Fishing Day Event) and ongoing updates.
