Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a major free update for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* with version 1.2, introducing two game-changing features: native mod integration via Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system.
The Steam Workshop integration makes modding a breeze, allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game, without the hassle of third-party platforms. However, this relies on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is limited but promising, featuring mods like:
- Free Saving: Replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever used or lost, granting unlimited saves.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a historically inspired horned helmet.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, giving access to restricted story locations.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a visually striking zebra.
While only a few mods are currently available, the vibrant modding community is poised for rapid growth. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, it's anticipated that many creators will soon share their work on both platforms. Although Steam Workshop might not match Nexus Mods in scale, it's expected that popular mods will quickly make their appearance there.

In addition to mod support, players can now head to NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard. This not only adds a personal touch to your character but also temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat, enhancing social interactions within the game.
The scope of update 1.2 extends well beyond these new features. According to the extensive changelog on the official website, Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements. These enhancements touch nearly every aspect of the game, from balancing adjustments and refined animations to more realistic NPC behaviors. Notably, the crime system has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

- Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more lifelike.
- Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
- Improved character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg (the game's largest city) and during large-scale battles.
