The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent CoD titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone can leverage existing resources to accelerate their progress. This guide explains how to utilize Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.
Understanding Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6
Following the Season 01 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens. Initially, these were readily usable in Black Ops 6 for boosting XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a subsequent November 15th patch addressed this, disabling their direct activation within the Black Ops 6 interface, as noted in the official Call of Duty blog.
These Legacy XP Tokens are leftover, unused tokens from previous CoD titles accessible via the COD HQ app, such as Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone. These tokens were earned through various methods in those games, including DMZ missions, Battle Pass tiers, and promotions with brands like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. While no longer directly usable in Black Ops 6, they remain valid in Warzone.

Utilizing Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6 (Workaround)
At the Season 01 launch, players could activate their Warzone Legacy XP Tokens directly within Black Ops 6. This functionality was temporarily removed. However, a workaround existed:
Activate the Legacy XP Tokens in Warzone. The token and its timer would then appear in your Black Ops 6 UI, allowing you to benefit from the XP boost. While this method required switching between games and the XP timer ran in real-time, it provided a means to accelerate leveling in Black Ops 6.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
