LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

by Hannah Apr 16,2025

LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, set to launch on May 1, 2025, in celebration of Star Wars Day, also known as May the 4th. This annual event, part of Disney's extensive celebration, often includes the release of a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In previous years, fans have enjoyed the Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024. This year, the spotlight is on Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known as Slave I among long-time Star Wars aficionados. LEGO officially changed its name to Jango Fett's Firespray Starship in 2021, following a request from Disney due to sensitivity around the term 'slave' (confirmed by LEGO). The new name appears to be permanent.

The latest version of this iconic starship, comprising 2970 pieces, is a significant upgrade from the last 'large' iteration released in 2019, which had 1007 pieces and was inspired by its appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new set, reflecting the ship's design in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, boasts nearly three times the piece count and measures an impressive 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
