Second Life, the social MMO recently announced for mobile, is now available in public beta on iOS and Android. Download it from the App Store and Google Play.

Premium membership is required for access, meaning this isn't a free trial for newcomers. Nevertheless, this beta release promises a significant increase in information about the mobile version.

For those unfamiliar, Second Life is a pioneering MMO emphasizing social interaction rather than combat or exploration. Preceding the recent metaverse hype, it introduced concepts like social gaming and user-generated content to the mainstream.
