Longvinter, after a three-year journey through early access on Steam, has officially launched version 1.0! This release incorporates extensive player feedback and bug fixes, delivering a revitalized experience for both veteran and new players.
This major update introduces oil rigs scattered throughout the archipelago. Players can now extract oil, process it into fuel, and engage in intense combat with LRI mercenaries guarding these vital supply lines. Exciting new events have also been added, including helicopter crashes offering valuable tactical gear and an hourly underground arena where players can battle for lucrative rewards.
The game world is significantly enhanced with the addition of new wildlife – lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats – all tamable and rideable. A wealth of new items are available, including beneficial hats, protective vests, advanced weaponry, explosives, diverse cooking recipes, and interactive building/decorating objects such as oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Weapon balance has also undergone significant adjustments.
Future plans include the 1.1 update, which will introduce farming, an improved tutorial, apartment rentals, and shared community features. Furthermore, Longvinter's arrival on PlayStation is confirmed for 2026, bringing the game to a wider audience.
