Wizards of the Coast maintains such a rapid release schedule for its long-running trading card game, Magic: The Gathering, that a new set is always just a few weeks away.
While we're currently looking forward to the Final Fantasy set, fans wanting more 'Universes Within' content after Tarkir Dragonstorm's impressive release won't have to wait long, though Edge of Eternities presents a completely different experience.

Here's everything we currently know about Magic: The Gathering: Edge of Eternities.
What is MTG Edge of Eternities?

This year, Wizards of the Coast is heavily focusing on Universes Beyond collaborations, with Final Fantasy being the first of three cross-franchise sets this year, followed later by Spider-Man and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Regardless of how you feel about that approach, Edge of Eternities serves as the counterpoint - a completely new set with cosmic themes that remains within Magic's established universe (though it's positioned between the Final Fantasy and Spider-Man releases).
We've only seen concept art so far, but we do know this set will kick off the final story arc of the Metronome storyline that began with Wilds of Eldraine (for those following the narrative).
Play Boosters

Play Boosters have now become the standard booster pack format, replacing both Set Boosters and Draft Boosters.
These 15-card packs are designed for sealed play and drafting. Cards 1 through 6 are commons, while card 7 is a common that may be a reprint.
Cards 8, 9, and 10 are uncommons, with card 11 containing your rare or mythic rare. Card 12 is a land card that may feature foil treatments or full-art designs, while card 13 is a "wildcard" that can be any card from the set.
Card 14 is a guaranteed foil wildcard, giving players better chances of obtaining sought-after cards. You can purchase Play Boosters individually or in booster boxes.
Collector Boosters

Collector Boosters are significantly more expensive than Play Boosters and contain 16 cards (including one token).
These premium packs include five rare or mythic rare cards, along with four uncommons, five commons, and one land card.
They typically feature enhanced frame treatments, with 12-13 cards being foil versions.
While available individually or in boxes, expect to pay a premium price for these specialized packs.
Commander Decks

$179.96 at AmazonWorld Shaper Commander Deck Counter Intelligence Commander Deck
Commander has emerged as Magic's most popular format, combining the excitement of last-player-standing matches with preconstructed 100-card decks that are ready to play right out of the box.
The number of Commander decks per set has varied considerably this year. Aetherdrift included two options, Tarkir: Dragonstorm offered five, and Final Fantasy provides four.
Edge of Eternities scales back to two decks: World Shaper and Counter Intelligence.
The World Shaper deck uses Black, Red, and Green colors (Jund) and encourages players to "Sacrifice Lands" to "Grow Back Stronger."
Counter Intelligence features Blue, Red, and White (Jeskai) and focuses on strategies to "Boost Artifacts" and "Proliferate Counters."

As with recent sets, Edge of Eternities will offer both Bundles and Prerelease Packs.
Bundles include nine Play Boosters, one exclusive alternate-art promo card, a complete set of 10 Full-Art Lands in both foil and non-foil versions, a spindown life counter, and a dedicated card storage box. Prerelease Packs function differently, designed specifically for prerelease events where players open six Play Boosters to build 40-card decks. These special boxes are available through local game stores.
