In a recent official statement, NetEase Games has made it clear that using keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles while playing Marvel Rivals will result in account bans. The company views this as a breach of their rules, citing the unfair advantage players gain from the heightened control sensitivity and continued aim assist functionality.
Adapters such as XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper enable players to simulate gamepad inputs with a keyboard and mouse. This setup provides a substantial edge in competitive play, particularly when auto-targeting features are in use.
NetEase has outlined their stance on the matter, stating: “We define adapters as devices or software that mimic gamepad controls through a keyboard and mouse setup. This practice disrupts the game's balance, especially in competitive settings.”
To enforce their policy, NetEase has deployed advanced detection tools designed to identify adapter usage with great precision. Accounts found in violation will be blocked to maintain fairness in gameplay.
On another note, there's an issue with Marvel Rivals where higher FPS can lead to increased ping. While the impact might be less noticeable with lower ping values, a spike from a usual 90 ms to 150 ms can severely disrupt gameplay. This issue appears to be tied to the frame rate.
For now, the recommended action for players is to await a patch that addresses this problem and to experiment with finding the optimal balance between FPS and ping. Some players suggest capping the FPS at around 90, which may seem counterintuitive to fans of games like Counter-Strike 2, but it's the current advice for Marvel Rivals.
