Equipping the Torch in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

To equip the torch in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, open your inventory, equip a pouch, select a torch, and assign it. Exit the inventory and hold down on the D-pad for Henry to ready the torch. On PC, simply press the R key to equip it.
You'll know the torch is equipped when you see a red shield icon next to it in your inventory. Remember that torch flames extinguish over time, so keep extras on hand for when this happens.
Additionally, while you can use a weapon and a torch simultaneously, this only works with one-handed weapons. Two-handed weapons cannot be used with a torch, nor can you wield a shield and a torch at the same time.
Why Do You Need a Torch?
Beyond illuminating dark areas for better visibility, carrying a torch is mandatory in settlements and towns at night. Guards will pursue and question you if they see you without one. You'll then have to either bribe them with Groschen or face imprisonment.
Locals are also less likely to engage in conversation at night if you aren't carrying a lit torch.
How to Get Torches
The easiest way to acquire torches is by buying them from general traders in town, or by looting them from corpses and chests.
That covers everything you need to know about using the torch in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. For more game tips and information, including the best perks to acquire first and all romance options, be sure to explore The Escapist.
