Most filmmakers who enjoy a long career will experience both triumphs and setbacks. Few, however, have ridden as extreme a rollercoaster as Danny Boyle. He burst onto the scene in the mid-1990s with two instant classics, only to falter immediately after with a duo of indulgent vanity projects. Boyle then revitalized the zombie horror genre, promptly followed by another critical misfire. Repeat this pattern a few more times, and you have one of cinema's most unpredictable filmographies.
Boyle returns to theaters this weekend with his first film in six years: 28 Years Later. If you're in the mood to revisit his finest work, here is our ranking of all 13 of his theatrically released films to date.
