Microsoft Revamps Game Pass Rewards and Quests

by Chloe Feb 11,2025

Xbox Game Pass is enhancing its rewards program with the introduction of Quests for PC users, launching January 7th. This update brings exciting changes, including daily, weekly, and monthly quest opportunities to earn points, and the return of weekly streaks. However, access to these new features is restricted to players aged 18 and older.

The revamped Game Pass Rewards system aims to create age-appropriate gaming experiences. While Xbox Game Pass offers a vast library of games for a monthly subscription, the new Quests and Rewards are exclusively for those 18 and over. This means players can earn points by completing various quests, redeemable for rewards.

Key changes include:

  • PC Game Pass Quest Access: Starting January 7th, PC Game Pass subscribers (18+) gain access to Quests and the Rewards Hub.
  • New Quest Types: Daily Play (10 points for 15 minutes of gameplay), Weekly Streaks (points increase with consecutive weekly participation, up to a 4x multiplier), Monthly 4-Pack (play four different games for 15 minutes each), and Monthly 8-Pack (expand to eight different games, with the 4-Pack games counting towards this). A PC Weekly Bonus of 150 points is also available for playing at least 15 minutes for five days or more.
  • Age Restriction: The Rewards Hub, accessible via Xbox console, Windows PC app, and mobile app, is now unavailable to users under 18.

This updated system simplifies earning rewards with daily, weekly, and monthly options, and the return of weekly streaks with escalating multipliers. Players can earn points daily by playing any Game Pass title, or by exploring diverse games through the monthly packs. The PC weekly bonus provides additional incentives for consistent play.

Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate content, resulting in the exclusion of users under 18 from the new rewards program. Younger players can still earn rewards through parental purchases of eligible items from the Microsoft Store. This update aims to provide more engaging ways for eligible players to enjoy their Game Pass subscription.
