NetherRealm Studios unleashes T-1000 and Madam Bo in Mortal Kombat 1 DLC.
Prepare for a metallic maelstrom! NetherRealm has unveiled gameplay footage of the T-1000, the final DLC character for the Khaos Reigns expansion. The footage showcases a range of attacks reminiscent of Terminator 2, including blade and hook arm maneuvers, liquid metal transformations, and a ground-rising uppercut echoing Killer Instinct's Glacius. Robert Patrick, the original T-1000 actor, provides the voice and likeness, featured in a clash with Johnny Cage, culminating in a brutal Fatality recreating the iconic T2 truck chase scene.
Adding to the excitement, Madam Bo joins the fray as a new Kameo fighter, simultaneously released with the T-1000. A fan-favorite from the base game's story mode, Madam Bo's brief gameplay glimpses showcase her assistance capabilities.
The T-1000 arrives March 18th for early access (Khaos Reigns owners), with general release on March 25th. Madam Bo is available March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or a standalone purchase.
The T-1000 concludes the Khaos Reigns DLC, sparking speculation about future content. While Warner Bros. Discovery remains committed to the Mortal Kombat franchise, NetherRealm's next project remains unconfirmed, although an Injustice sequel is widely anticipated. Ed Boon previously confirmed the studio's next game was planned three years prior, promising continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. He cited the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to Unreal Engine 4 as factors influencing the decision to develop another Mortal Kombat title before returning to the Injustice series. Boon explicitly stated that the Injustice franchise is not closed.
