Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled an exciting new narrative game titled In Their Shoes, set to launch in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms. The game has already garnered attention, earning a nomination for the prestigious 'A MAZE. 2025' independent and arthouse games awards in Berlin.
In Their Shoes Is a Narrative Game that’s More About Listening
Set in the vibrant and contradictory city of Milan, In Their Shoes invites players to step into the lives of seven unique characters. The game features 49 interactive short stories, each known as a Moment, providing a window into the daily lives and inner thoughts of these individuals.
Each Moment in In Their Shoes captures the essence of the characters’ hesitations, routines, and the split-second decisions they face. Some stories unfold slowly, allowing players to immerse themselves in the characters' contemplative moments, while others demand quick reactions, reflecting the pace of real-life scenarios.
Unlike traditional narrative games, In Their Shoes embraces a less structured storytelling approach. As players navigate through the fragmented stories, they can uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, offering a deep, slice-of-life experience.
While the Play Store page is yet to be launched, the game's Steam page is already live. For a sneak peek into the game, check out the announcement trailer below.
