How to Use and Mute Voice Chat in Monster Hunter Wilds

Want to use or mute voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds? While it's a multiplayer game, you're not obligated to chat. If you do want to use in-game voice chat (instead of Discord or other party chat), here's how to manage it.

All voice chat settings are within the game's audio options menu. Navigate to the Options menu (either in-game or on the main menu), then select the third tab from the right. Scroll down slightly to find the Voice Chat setting. You'll have three choices: Enable (always on), Disable (always off), and Push-to-Talk (activated by a keyboard key press). Note that Push-to-Talk only works with a keyboard.

Further options control voice chat volume (adjusting the incoming audio level) and voice chat auto-toggle. Auto-toggle lets you prioritize voice chat with either your current quest members, your link party members, or disable automatic switching. Quest members are those currently participating in your hunt; this is likely the most frequently used option. Link members are those in a party with you, useful for collaborative story progression or when waiting for cutscenes.

That covers voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds. While the audio quality isn't as high as dedicated communication apps, the in-game option is convenient, especially for cross-platform play.
