In related news, a major free update for Splatoon 3 is scheduled for release on June 12. Version 10.0.0 introduces 30 new weapon kits from the Barazushi and Emberz brands (the Splatlands Collection), brings back the classic Urchin Underpass stage from the original Wii U game, and delivers performance and visual enhancements for the Switch 2. Nintendo states that Switch 2 players will experience more detailed graphics and smoother gameplay in areas like Splatsville and the Grand Festival Grounds. Cross-play between Switch 1 and Switch 2 will remain fully supported.
Additionally, all weapon Freshness caps will be increased, and players can earn new in-game Badges. A new stat for Anarchy Battle (Series), called Series Weapon Power, will be introduced. This metric tracks a player's effectiveness with each weapon based on their win/loss record, subsequently matching them with opponents of similar proficiency. This system allows players to experiment with new weapons without a competitive disadvantage while also mastering their preferred arsenal.
