Hollow Knight: Silksong Playable Version
Available at Game Worlds in Australia
Hollow Knight: Silksong stands as one of gaming's most eagerly awaited releases in recent memory. Fans will soon have the chance to experience it firsthand through a playable version at Australia's National Museum of Screen Culture (ACMI). This new demo promises significant evolution from the 2019 E3 preview, which many considered more of a conceptual prototype than a full showcase.
From September 18, 2025 to February 8, 2026, ACMI will host the Game Worlds exhibition featuring prominent titles including World of Warcraft, The Sims, and Australia's own Hollow Knight: Silksong. The showcase will offer custom game builds alongside original design materials, concept art, and iconic memorabilia.
ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell told IGN: "Since its announcement in 2019, Hollow Knight: Silksong has ranked among the world's most anticipated indie titles - we're thrilled to highlight this South Australian-developed game as a centerpiece of September's Game Worlds exhibition."
After years of scarce information following its 2019 announcement, this exhibition will finally provide substantial reveals about Silksong. The curators explained: "Our displays will explore everything from Hornet's intricate animation sprites to boss fight mechanics, alongside a playable in-gallery version - offering deep insight into the game's artistic vision."
While the exhibition timing suggests a potential launch window (especially following the recent Switch 2 Direct confirmation of a 2025 release), Team Cherry hasn't made official announcements. With the exhibit running through February 2026, hopeful fans anticipate Silksong may debut within this timeframe.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. For ongoing updates about the game, stay tuned to our coverage!
