Noir indie shooter MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will be without microtransactions

Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio unveil fresh details for their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. This first-person shooter, boasting a striking visual style reminiscent of 1930s cartoons, places players in the shoes of private investigator Jack Pepper.

The game plunges players into a world brimming with jazz, dynamic action, and a compelling noir atmosphere. A key announcement made via the game's official X account emphasizes the absence of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a microtransaction-free experience is noteworthy, particularly within the indie single-player shooter market.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire's distinctive aesthetic, inspired by the rubber hose animation style popular in 1930s cartoons, provides a unique visual experience. Players will navigate a city steeped in noir, encountering mobs, gangs, and corrupt officials. A diverse arsenal of weapons, power-ups, and explosives aids in Jack Pepper's quest for justice. The gameplay incorporates a humorous twist on classic FPS mechanics, featuring whimsical weaponry, a distinctive health display, and cartoonish enemies.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for a 2025 launch.
