Pirate Software Ejected from OnlyFangs WoW Guild

Summary

  • Pirate Software was expelled from the OnlyFangs guild following a disastrous Dire Maul North run that resulted in Hardcore deaths.
  • His refusal to accept responsibility for the incident led to his removal by Guild Master Sodapoppin.

Pirate Software has been removed from the World of Warcraft streamer guild, OnlyFangs, after a failed Dire Maul North run caused the death of two guild members in Hardcore mode. Dire Maul, recently introduced to the World of Warcraft Anniversary servers, has already led to several high-profile Hardcore deaths within OnlyFangs.

Before Blizzard officially introduced Hardcore servers to the Classic client in August 2023, players adhered to self-imposed rules for zero-death runs. The popularity of these servers waned until the introduction of Anniversary servers in November 2024, which revitalized interest in World of Warcraft Classic and led to a decline in the original Classic server population. Since their inception, numerous Hardcore players have met their demise on these servers, while others have successfully reached level 60 under these challenging conditions. The latest casualties within OnlyFangs include Sara and Snupy, prompting Guild Master Sodapoppin to ban the responsible player, Pirate Software.

According to multiple social media posts, Sodapoppin issued a statement on Discord explaining Pirate Software's removal from OnlyFangs. The statement revealed that a majority of guild members felt uneasy playing alongside Pirate Software after the deaths of Sara and Snupy during the Dire Maul North run. The incident occurred when the group prematurely engaged a boss without clearing a pack of Gordok ogres first. When a party member suggested retreating to reset the encounter, Pirate Software abandoned the group during their escape. Despite the possibility of remaining in the guild under normal circumstances, Pirate Software's refusal to acknowledge his role in the deaths of Sara and Snupy led to his ousting. The entire incident can be viewed here, though viewers should be aware of strong language in the video.

This is Why Pirate Software Was Kicked From the World of Warcraft Guild OnlyFangs

The primary criticism leveled against Pirate Software was his refusal to accept any blame for the Hardcore deaths, particularly due to his ineffective use of crowd control abilities. During a post-run analysis, popular Twitch streamer Sodapoppin highlighted that Pirate Software could have used Blizzard rank 1 to slow down the deadly enemies without depleting too much mana. Other OnlyFangs members, such as Mizkif, have claimed that Pirate Software's expulsion was also due to threats he made against fellow streamers following the Dire Maul incident. In response to his removal, Pirate Software took to Twitter to argue that the situation was mishandled.

As several members have been kicked from OnlyFangs since its recreation on the Anniversary server Doomhowl, some may form their own guilds. With Blizzard continuing to update World of Warcraft Classic with patches that accurately reflect the Vanilla experience, the guild may face additional Hardcore deaths as new dungeons and raids are introduced.
