Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark

Akupara Games has been busy lately, releasing a string of new titles. Following their recent deck-builder, Zoeti, comes The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle game. And that's not all – they've also released the sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark, making both available simultaneously!

What's Brewing in Twin Lakes?

The game plunges you into the atmospheric, fog-shrouded streets of Twin Lakes – a city where the strange, the spooky, and the utterly absurd are everyday occurrences. Meet Detective Francis McQueen and his partner, the endearingly clumsy Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, this unlikely duo forms the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll join them in solving nine captivating cases, each a bite-sized mystery, while exploring the hilariously bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty follow-up.

These point-and-click adventures throw you into a whirlwind of challenges, from time-travel puzzles and tentacled horrors to the secrets of a mysterious carnival and even mafia zombies! Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of the action:

Ready to Investigate? ---------------------------

The game is a playful tribute to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. The cases themselves boast intriguing titles like "Malice in Wonderland," "Tome Alone," "Disorient Express," "Police Farce," "Don of the Dead," "Buy Hard," and "Baits Motel."

One of the game's greatest strengths is its ability to inject humor into every pixel. If you're interested in giving The Darkside Detective a try, you can purchase it on the Google Play Store for $6.99. A Fumble in the Dark can also be played independently of the prequel, so feel free to jump straight into the sequel on Google Play as well.
