Rome: Total War\'s Feral Interactive port receives major new Imperium update

by Jack Apr 01,2025

Feral Interactive, renowned for their expertise in mobile porting, has significantly enhanced the mobile version of Creative Assembly's acclaimed real-time strategy and empire-building game, Rome: Total War, with the Imperium Edition update. This major overhaul brings a host of new mechanics, quality-of-life improvements, and more to Android and iOS players.

While some of these updates echo the enhancements seen in Feral's PC remaster of Total War: Rome, they are far from being mere copies. Instead, they represent thoughtful additions that enrich the mobile gaming experience. For instance, seasoned players will appreciate the introduction of Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection, features borrowed from the Medieval II port.

Perhaps one of the most exciting additions is the support for keyboard and mouse on Android and iOS devices. This feature allows players to leverage familiar desktop controls, offering an unparalleled level of tactical control and making it one of the best ways to experience the original Rome: Total War on mobile.

The Imperium update is now available, and players should keep an eye out for additional quality-of-life, gameplay, and other improvements.
