The Rune Giant is Clash Royale's newest Epic card, unlocked in the Jungle Arena (Arena 9). A free Rune Giant is available via a launch offer in the shop until January 17th, 2025; after this date, it's obtainable only through chests or the shop.
Mastering the Rune Giant requires understanding its strategic value. This guide highlights top Rune Giant decks to enhance your gameplay.
Clash Royale Rune Giant Overview
The Rune Giant is an Epic card targeting enemy Towers and defensive buildings. At tournament level, it boasts 2803 Hitpoints and medium movement speed, dealing 120 damage to buildings – more than an Ice Golem, but less than a Giant.
Its unique strength lies not in tanking, but in its Enchant effect. Upon deployment, it enchants two nearby troops, boosting their damage output on every third hit. This buffing ability makes it lethal in specific card combinations.
Costing only four elixir, it's easily cycled without elixir strain. Fast-attacking troops like the Dart Goblin maximize its effect, while slower-attacking troops benefit from strategic use.

Unlike the Golem, the Rune Giant isn't a standalone win condition. It excels as a support troop, distracting enemies and absorbing tower hits while your other units attack.
Best Rune Giant Decks in Clash Royale
These Clash Royale decks effectively utilize the Rune Giant:
- Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
- Battle Ram 3M
- Hog EQ Firecracker
Details on each deck follow:
Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
While Goblin Giant decks often feature Sparky, this variant uses the Cannon Cart alongside the Rune Giant.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
This beatdown deck boasts strong defense against various attack strategies. The Rune Giant buffs the Cannon Cart and Goblin Giant (including its Spear Goblins), maximizing damage output. The Elixir Collector fuels consistent pushes, complemented by the Lumberjack and Rage spell for additional Goblin Giant boosts. However, its air defense (Evo Bats) is limited, making it vulnerable to Lava Hound decks. This deck utilizes the Royal Chef Tower Troop.
Battle Ram 3M
This deck reimagines the Three Musketeers, playing similarly to a Pekka Bridge Spam strategy.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
The Bandit, Royal Ghost, and Evo Battle Ram create early-game pressure, while the Elixir Collector builds an elixir advantage. The Three Musketeers are strategically deployed during Double Elixir. Defense relies on the Rune Giant (tanking) and Hunter (cleanup) combo, enhanced by the Rune Giant's Enchant. Evo Zap supports Battle Ram pushes. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
Hog EQ Firecracker
A top-tier Hog Rider deck, enhanced by the Rune Giant.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
Gameplay mirrors the standard Hog EQ Firecracker deck, replacing Valkyrie or Mighty Miner with the Rune Giant. The Rune Giant's Enchant dramatically increases Firecracker damage. The Earthquake provides late-game tower damage. Evo Skeletons offer effective defense. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
The Rune Giant introduces exciting strategic possibilities to Clash Royale. Experiment with these decks and personalize them to discover your optimal playstyle.
