Sandworm Riding in Dune: Awakening: A Partial Reality

by Madison Jun 19,2025

While sandworm-riding may not be the first survival skill you need in *Dune: Awakening*, it's definitely one of the most thrilling — and notoriously difficult — feats to pull off. Although it’s not an official, unlockable feature in the game, players have discovered a way to ride these massive desert predators by combining precise timing, deep knowledge of worm behavior, and the right equipment.

Redditor SgtDolphin recently demonstrated this impressive trick in two separate videos, showcasing how he managed to mount a sandworm using a combination of abilities such as the Bindu Sprint for high-speed movement, the Full Suspensor Belt to stabilize mid-air, and Emperor's Wings to glide with more control. While riding doesn’t grant full control over the worm’s movement — and there's no guarantee you'll stay on for long — it proves that with enough persistence (and a little luck), it can be done.

"It's very glitchy at times, especially on the sand that's being displaced,"

As noted in the Reddit comments, success comes only after many failed attempts and plenty of respawns. It’s a risky maneuver, but for those who enjoy mastering unconventional techniques, it's a rewarding challenge akin to tackling a tough boss in games like *Elden Ring*.

Our team is still diving into the vast world of *Dune: Awakening*. While we continue refining our full review — particularly around aspects like gunplay mechanics — our early impressions highlight just how much content the game offers. With over 35 hours logged, there’s still plenty left to explore, including unvisited zones, unfinished story arcs, and deeper PvP encounters yet to come.
