During the Silent Hill Transmission livestream on March 14, Konami unveiled Silent Hill f, a new installment in the iconic horror franchise. The narrative for this game is being crafted by Ryukishi07, the acclaimed creator behind the psychological horror visual novel series, When They Cry (also known as Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). Known for his expertise in weaving suspense and intricate plots, Ryukishi07's involvement has ignited excitement among fans of both the Silent Hill series and his previous works.
Adding to the anticipation, the game's soundtrack will feature contributions from the acclaimed anime composers Dai and Xaki. Their collaboration with industry veterans Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage, who have been instrumental in shaping the auditory essence of the Silent Hill series, is set to enhance the game's immersive atmosphere.

Ryukishi07 provided insights into his decision to bring Dai and Xaki on board, noting that their music has consistently elevated his previous projects. He specifically requested their involvement to amplify key scenes in Silent Hill f:
These two musicians have always helped make my projects better. For Silent Hill f, I specifically asked them to focus on scenes I wanted to make particularly expressive.
Interestingly, Dai's entry into the music industry was unconventional. As a fan, he once wrote a letter to Ryukishi07 criticizing the use of free music in one of his games. Rather than dismissing the feedback, Ryukishi07 challenged Dai to create his own soundtrack. Impressed by Dai's talent, the team eventually integrated his work into their projects, marking the beginning of a successful collaboration.
Silent Hill f is currently in development for PC (available via Steam and Epic Games Store), as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With Ryukishi07's compelling storytelling and the evocative compositions by Dai and Xaki, the game promises to deliver a haunting experience that pushes the boundaries of horror gaming.
As fans eagerly await its release, the synergy between these creative talents underscores the potential of Silent Hill f to become a standout addition to the legendary series.
