Despite a vibrant pre-launch crossover event featuring beloved Sega classics like Super Monkey Ball and Altered Beast, Sonic Rumble's global debut is on hold. Originally poised for a full launch after amassing over 1.4 million pre-registrations, Sega has decided to delay the release to polish the game further.
The reason behind this delay is the preparation of the version 1.2 update, which is set to enhance Sonic Rumble's toybox world with new features such as Rumble Rankings, Crews, and character Skills. These additions are designed to enrich the core gameplay, offering players more than just a chaotic victory to pursue.
Rumble Rankings will allow players to ascend seasonal leaderboards and earn rewards, while Crews enable you and your friends to collaborate on score missions. The new Skills system will equip characters with unique abilities, adding strategic depth to the gameplay.
Instead of a hurried mid-launch rollout, Sega is taking the time to perfect these updates. In the meantime, a Q&A session is scheduled for May 2nd on Discord, where you can learn about future developments and ask any questions you might have.
