by Blake May 20,2025

Star Wars enthusiasts eager to dive into the opening episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to venture into Fortnite to catch the premiere before its Disney+ release. Today, Epic Games unveiled an exciting expansion of its Star Wars content, announcing that the first two episodes of the animated spinoff will debut exclusively within Fortnite. This move is part of Epic's strategy to enhance its Star Wars offerings during the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which promises a plethora of Star Wars-themed delights.

PlayStarting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2, fans can witness the launch of Tales of the Underworld with two episodes featuring Asajj Ventress, available on the Star Wars Watch Party island. This is two days ahead of the series' availability to Disney+ subscribers. Epic encourages players to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, offering a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward. While the full scope of account linkage benefits remains undisclosed, Epic hints at additional perks on the horizon.

"Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision," stated Epic Games President Adam Sussman. "We are reimagining what's possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world's most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come."

You have until May 11 to enjoy these episodes on the Star Wars Watch Party island, after which the island will cease to be available. Additionally, the island will host a Battle Arena where players can engage in combat using lightsabers to fend off waves of enemies. Viewers who watch both episodes will be rewarded with an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series animated in the style of The Clone Wars, focusing on the adventures of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official description hints at Ventress confronting new life opportunities and alliances, while Bane grapples with his past.

Disney's relationship with Fortnite stretches beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, the House of Mouse acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, solidifying a long-term partnership that will see further collaborations and the integration of more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits into the game. The next season will feature notable additions like Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Since its debut in 2017, Fortnite has continued to dominate the gaming landscape. Its recent collaborations, including a crossover with Sabrina Carpenter that had players swapping pickaxes for dancing shoes, underscore its ongoing success and appeal.
