Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, riding high on the success of last year's critically acclaimed Helldivers 2, is currently developing a new game concept. Creative director Johan Pilestedt recently took to social media, announcing work on a "high-concept" project and inviting fan input.

The response was varied, with suggestions ranging from a Smash TV remake to a Star Fox-inspired title. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and also mentioned exploring a Star Fox-esque concept within the "rail shooter" genre.

While specifics remain confidential, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The phenomenal success of Helldivers 2, a standout title of 2024, sets a high benchmark for their next endeavor.

A recent update has significantly boosted Helldivers 2's player count on PS5. The Omens of Tyranny expansion, a surprise release at the 2024 Game Awards, has been well-received.

This update has delighted Helldivers 2 players, introducing the long-awaited Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps. With rumors of a Killzone crossover also circulating, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
