Team Ninja Teases 30th Anniversary Plans

Team Ninja Celebrates 30 Years with Ambitious 2025 Plans

Team Ninja, the Koei Tecmo subsidiary renowned for action titles like Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, has hinted at significant releases for its 30th anniversary in 2025. Beyond its flagship franchises, the studio has also achieved success with soulslike RPGs, including the Nioh series and collaborations such as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The recent PlayStation 5 exclusive, Rise of the Ronin, further showcases the studio's versatility.

According to Fumihiko Yasuda, Team Ninja aims to launch titles befitting its anniversary. While specifics remain undisclosed, speculation centers on potential new entries in the Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden series. Yasuda's statement, "In 2025, Team Ninja will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we hope to announce and release titles fitting for the occasion," fuels anticipation among fans.

Looking ahead to 2025, the already-announced Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound offers a promising glimpse into Team Ninja's plans. This side-scrolling title, a collaboration with DotEmu, revives the classic 8-bit era gameplay, updated with modern elements. This follows the divisive 2014 entry, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

Meanwhile, the Dead or Alive franchise, dormant since Dead or Alive 6 (2019), remains a strong contender for an anniversary release. Fans eagerly await a new mainline entry, hoping to see Team Ninja revitalize this iconic fighting game series. The Nioh series also holds a place in fans' hopes for a 2025 announcement. The coming year promises exciting developments from this celebrated developer.
