Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of positive news to report. One of the persistent issues that has been plaguing gamers has now been resolved.
Ubisoft has successfully addressed the compatibility problems between several Assassin’s Creed titles and the Windows 11 24H2 update. Since at least the fall of 2024, players of Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and other Ubisoft games experienced significant issues with the new OS. Thankfully, Ubisoft has rolled out new patches to fix these problems, as announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.
The gaming community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their gratitude for Ubisoft's swift action in the comments section of the patch notes. Interestingly, gamers have refrained from their usual critiques of Ubisoft, acknowledging that this issue stemmed from Windows rather than the game developer itself. Despite the positive feedback, the recent reviews for both games remain "Mixed."
Looking forward, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally slated for an earlier launch, the game's release has been postponed to March 20. Ubisoft is dedicating this additional time to enhance the game's quality, understanding that its success could be pivotal for the company's future.
