Warframe: 1999 is set to enhance its Y2K-themed universe with a new update arriving this March. Revealed during a Digital Extremes devstream, the Techrot Encore update introduces the 60th Warframe, Temple, along with four new Protoframes and a host of exciting additions.
One of the standout features of this update is the introduction of the Technocyte Coda to the Lich adversary system. Previously known as the boy band On-Lyne, these characters were prominent in the ARG leading up to Warframe: 1999's launch. Now transformed into cybernetic killing machines, they bring a unique challenge to players.
To tackle these new foes, players will have access to four new Scaldra weapons, offering diverse options for both ranged and melee combat. The update also includes enhancements to the Romance & Relationships system, a new Gyre Deluxe cosmetic skin, and the much-anticipated Protoframes and Warframe.
Y2K is real! The turn-of-the-century aesthetic of Warframe: 1999 continues to captivate players, and the transformation of a boy band into cybernetic monstrosities adds an intriguing twist to the game's narrative.
As we approach the release of this update, there are more events to look forward to. Starting February 6th, the Clan Operation: Belly of the Beast returns, along with new skins and Nightwave Vol. 8, providing even more rewards for players.
