"Warzone Mobile Shuts Down: End of an Era"

by Joshua May 20,2025

After a brief stint on the market, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is being discontinued. Activision has announced that the mobile version of the popular battle royale game will no longer receive seasonal updates or new content, and has been removed from the App Store and Google Play as of May 18th. If you haven't installed the app by this date, you will no longer have access. Additionally, real-money purchases have been disabled, signaling the beginning of the end for Warzone Mobile.

This sudden termination marks an abrupt close to what was intended to be a significant mobile adaptation of the renowned Warzone experience. While Activision expressed pride in the game's faithful recreation of the Warzone universe for mobile devices, it seems the title did not resonate with mobile gamers as it did with PC and console players.

For those who have already installed Warzone Mobile, online access will remain available past May 19th. You can continue to play matches online, although social features will be turned off. There’s no set date yet for when the servers will shut down completely. The in-game store will still be accessible, but only for spending existing COD Points—no new purchases can be made.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile DiscontinuationAs a small gesture, players with remaining COD Points can redeem them in Call of Duty: Mobile. This redemption period is open until August 15th. By logging into Call of Duty: Mobile with the same Activision account, you'll receive double the value of your unused Warzone Mobile COD Points, along with additional rewards.

If you haven't installed or reinstalled Warzone Mobile by May 19th, this is your final chance. After this date, no refunds will be issued, and the game will become inaccessible. This marks a disappointing end to what was promoted as a major expansion of the Warzone universe, serving as a stark reminder that even the biggest franchises can struggle to maintain success on mobile platforms.
