Tencent's Expanded Investment in Kuro Games
Tencent's share in Kuro Games has risen to approximately 51.4%, securing a controlling stake. This follows a previous investment in 2023 and the departure of other shareholders. Tencent is now the sole external investor in Kuro Games.
Maintaining Independence
Despite this significant investment, Kuro Games assures continued operational independence. This mirrors Tencent's approach with other successful studios like Riot Games (League of Legends, Valorant) and Supercell (Clash of Clans, Brawl Stars). Kuro Games' official statement emphasizes that this acquisition will foster a "more stable external environment" and support its long-term independent growth strategy. Tencent has yet to release an official statement.

Kuro Games has achieved notable success with both Punishing: Gray Raven and Wuthering Waves. Each title has generated over $120 million USD in revenue and continues to receive regular updates.
