Starting today (August 18) and continuing until the October 7 launch of Battlefield 6, EA is rolling out a "wave of content" for Battlefield 2042. This includes a free new pass celebrating the Battlefield legacy, fresh hardware, and a redesigned version of the beloved Iwo Jima map.
Advancing through the 'Road to Battlefield 6' pass unlocks 50 exclusive cross-game rewards. Twenty of these will be available in Battlefield 6 on day one.
Free pass earners can unlock the KFS2000, while beta participants get the LYNX sniper rifle. Additionally, two attack jets—the A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot—are being unvaulted.
Earlier today, we covered a new leak hinting that at least two upcoming unreleased maps will be larger than any we've encountered so far.
DICE recently adjusted Rush mode following player feedback, but overall the Battlefield 6 open beta was well received, attracting high concurrent player counts on Steam—pointing to a strong launch in October.
Our early impressions have been very positive, as noted in our Battlefield 6 review-in-progress: "Even in beta, I'm thoroughly enjoying Battlefield 6’s multiplayer. The combat is outstanding, with cinematic destruction that's not just eye candy—it’s tactically meaningful.
"In its current state, Battlefield 6 might just be this year's most entertaining shooter."
