Yakuza Fans Vote on Unique Official Merch: Cult Clothes, Traffic Cones, and More

Yakuza / Like a Dragon is marking its 20th anniversary this year, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is inviting fans to participate in a unique celebration by choosing what official merchandise the studio should create. With a diverse selection of over 100 items, ranging from conventional to quirky, fans have the opportunity to vote for their favorites, with the top two items set to be produced within the next two years. Although the voting is only listed in Japanese, fans can submit their votes on the official website.

Among the items up for vote, you'll find typical fan merchandise like a 20th anniversary celebration hoodie and a Yakuza-themed pencil case. However, true to the franchise's wild nature, there are also more eccentric options. These include the cult outfit of Munan Suzuki from Yakuza 0, the oversized traffic cone used by Majima in Yakuza Kiwami, and the amusingly named "Puffy Gold Pants."

Other intriguing items include the sake Majima drinks in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's iconic gold watch, the fountain pen Kiryu uses in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, the tambourine Kashiwagi plays during karaoke in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prisoner uniform from Yakuza 4, among other unique pieces from the series.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, fans can look forward to the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 21, 2025. While RGG Studio made a significant impact with the 10th anniversary release of Yakuza 0, no additional celebratory projects have been announced for later in the year. However, given RGG Studio's track record of rapid development, having released nine games in the last five years, including titles like Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, the possibility of more releases in 2025 cannot be ruled out.
