  • The third Shadow Duelist in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has been revealed as actor Dylan Sprouse.
  • Sprouse was unmasked during the tournament while playing the villainous Baron Bloodthorne.
  • The champion received a custom, autographed mask as their prize.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! community bridges divides of age, gender, and nationality—and now, it seems, even celebrity status. The latest Shadow Duelist in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, Baron Bloodthorne, was unveiled in yesterday’s tournament finale as none other than actor Dylan Sprouse.

Dylan and his twin brother Cole are best known for starring in the Disney Channel’s Suite Life series. Since then, both have pursued individual careers, and for Dylan, this role as Baron Bloodthorne fits right in.

Much like his voice role as the elven outcast Alith Anaar in Total War: Warhammer II, Dylan Sprouse challenged duelists throughout the Shadow Duelist series. He joins a growing list of celebrities who have competed in the tournament under secret identities and custom masks.

Behind the Mask

The first two Shadow Duelists were WWE star Xavier Woods and Zayn Malik of One Direction, each sporting unique mask designs. Beyond the thrill of unmasking Sprouse as Baron Bloodthorne, the tournament champion also took home the actor’s autographed mask as a trophy.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel remains one of the most popular mobile and console adaptations of the iconic trading card game. The Shadow Duelist series, in particular, has captivated fans of this multiplatform card battler and continues to generate buzz.

Still, it wouldn’t be Yu-Gi-Oh! without one essential element—and no, it’s not Edison or Speed Duel, but the ban list. If you plan to compete at a high level in Master Duel, it’s crucial to stay updated on the latest restricted and forbidden cards.
