The trademark application for Honkai Nexus Anima was initially spotted on the Korea Intellectual Property Information Search’s (KIPRIS) website before being removed. However, it remains listed on the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) website.

The Honkai series began with Honkai Impact 3rd, a free-to-play mobile action RPG considered the spiritual successor to Houkai Gakuen 2, a classic 2D side-scrolling shooter. Subsequently, Honkai Star Rail was released in 2023, offering a free-to-play mobile experience with turn-based gameplay.

According to GosuGamers, citing @chibi0108 on Twitter, they are developing an "auto-chess" game featuring "Destined Spirits" in battle.
