inZOI developers confirmed that Denuvo DRM will no longer be part of the game. Reports surfaced over the last 24 hours indicating that the anti-tamper software was present in the Creative Studio mode demo. Denuvo DRM, known for preventing unauthorized copies of PC games, has long sparked debates within the gaming community due to its impact on performance.

In a recent Steam blog post published on March 26, inZOI Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim tackled these concerns, assuring players that the Early Access version launching this Friday will exclude DRM entirely. "Initially, we implemented Denuvo to safeguard against illegal distribution, believing it would uphold fairness for legitimate buyers. However, upon reviewing community feedback, we recognized this decision didn't resonate with our player base," Kim explained.

Kim additionally apologized for not clearly communicating the inclusion of Denuvo in the Creative Studio mode. Despite knowing that eliminating DRM increases the risk of unauthorized distribution, the team believes fostering unrestricted configurability will empower players to craft unique experiences. "Enabling this creative freedom from the start will yield innovation and enduring satisfaction for our community," he added.

The emphasis on modding has been central to inZOI's development strategy, leaving players puzzled by the integration of Denuvo, which complicates the process of adding custom content.

Kim stressed, "As outlined during the Online Showcase, we remain dedicated to transforming inZOI into a highly moddable game. Our initial phase of official mod support will debut in May, empowering players with tools such as Maya and Blender to generate custom assets. This is merely the first step; we aim to extend modding capabilities further across the game over time."

A dedicated post will follow with additional insights into modding features. Krafton remains committed to prioritizing player feedback and implementing necessary changes to deliver an exceptional experience.

inZOI is scheduled for Early Access release on March 28, 2025, for PC. It will also launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC upon its full release. At this time, the exact release date for the full version remains unconfirmed.
