How to Start Axe From the Lake in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

To begin The Axe From the Lake quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, travel to the tavern in Tachov and locate an NPC named Zdenyek the Mouth. Engage in conversation and ask him for interesting information - he'll share rumors about a legendary axe hidden in a nearby lake, setting your adventure in motion.

How to Find the Axe From the Lake

Before heading to your marked destination, ensure you're carrying a spade - you'll need it for grave excavation later in the quest. Spades can typically be found in graveyards or purchased from general merchants throughout the game world.

After acquiring a spade, proceed to the large objective area near the lake. Start at the pier facing the water, then follow the northern path until Henry notices an undamaged tree. Continue onward until you spot a distinctive large rock - Henry will comment on this landmark as well.

Follow the trail further until you discover a gravesite marked by a tree. Use your spade to excavate the grave, revealing these valuable items:

• Gemstone
• Silver Ring
• Marigold x5
• Broken Axe

Repairing the Axe

The final stage involves restoring the recovered weapon. Visit blacksmith Radovan in Tachov and request his repair services. Be prepared to provide Fastening Material (available from Radovan or other merchants) and pay 699.5 groschen for the restoration work.

Once repaired, the Broken Axe transforms into the powerful Adorned Axe. Return to Zdenyek to complete the quest - you'll have the option to keep the upgraded weapon for combat.
