Fans of the cooperative action game *Elden Ring Nightreign* might be surprised to learn that the iconic poisonous swamps, a hallmark of From Software games, will not be featured in this title. This revelation came from the project's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a similar location was showcased in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents a completely different environment. The absence of these notorious swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his affinity for such challenging terrains. Miyazaki's influence has been evident in the inclusion of swamp areas in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series, but he did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

In other news, there's a glimmer of hope for fans hoping for more cooperative play options. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has been announced with one-player and three-player modes, the developers are currently contemplating the addition of a two-player mode. Initially, this mode was left out due to challenges in content balancing. However, From Software is actively considering its inclusion, though no final decision has been made yet.
Mark your calendars: *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC as well as two generations of consoles.
