Foamstars, Square Enix's Answer to Splatoon 3, Becomes Free-to-Play in Less Than a Year Since Launch

Square Enix Announces Foamstars Free to Play Starting October 4PS+ Sub No Longer Required to Access Game

Foamstars, Square Enix's Answer to Splatoon 3, Becomes Free-to-Play in Less Than a Year Since Launch

Foamstars, Square Enix's 4v4 premium shooter will become free to play, as announced by the gaming giant today in an update on its support page. Along with this change, the game will also no longer require a PlayStation Plus subscription for access. Currently available for $29.99 for the PS4 and PS5, Foamstars will be free to download and play starting on October 4, 2024, at 1:00 a.m. UTC.

For players who purchased Foamstars before the price change, Square Enix will distribute a Legacy Gift. This exclusive in-game bundle includes:
　⚫︎　12 color-variant Bubble Beastie skins
　⚫︎　1 exclusive Slide Board design
　⚫︎　1 title: "Legacy"
