Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained

Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation. With six weapon types available, players can customize their character to suit any preferred playstyle.

Three weapon types are melee, and three are ranged. Each weapon is customizable, and some possess unique charged attack effects. Here's a breakdown of each weapon type:

Freedom Wars Remastered Weapon Types

The six weapon types are obtainable through completing operations or purchasing them from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrades' weapons are fixed, players can freely equip and change their own weapons and Accessory weapons at any time without penalty.

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks, ideal for fast-paced combat against single targets. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide-sweeping attacks inflicting high damage. Well-placed attacks hit multiple Abductor limbs for multiplied damage. Charged attacks launch the player into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed.
Polearm Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for significant damage from a distance.
Assault Weapons High ammo capacity, suitable as a primary weapon for ranged builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne for advantageous positioning.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed.
Autocannons High rate of fire, large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, but the high rate of fire compensates. Reduces movement speed.

Unlike the player character, Accessories do not consume ammo when using ranged weapons.
