How to Start The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Once you've navigated through the tutorial section of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and ventured into the open world, your first step is to have a conversation with the scribe Gaibl in Troskowitz. This interaction will kickstart The Lion’s Crest quest. Gaibl will present you with a riddle and the smithing recipe for Brunswick’s polearm. You'll need to gather the necessary materials yourself, but the blacksmith’s forge is where you'll craft this weapon.

The Lion’s Crest Riddle Solution

Let's delve into the riddle, which goes:

“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunters’ gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind who yearned for treasure lays. Between then stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armour gleaming still.”

To solve this, head to Trosky Castle, where you'll find the Crone Tower and Maiden Tower. Exit the castle through the northern gates and continue north into the forest.

Follow the road and keep an eye on the left side for rocky formations with crevices you can navigate. After passing through these, you'll discover a cave with a chapel inside. Inspect the cross on the rock beside it to uncover the first piece of Brunswick’s Armour, along with two treasure maps to guide you further in the quest.

Map 1

Continue along the road that led you to the chapel, heading west until you reach a crossroads. From there, venture north into the woods to locate a wolf den. Search the trees just above the den to find a bag containing the second piece of Brunswick’s armour.

Map 2

The second map directs you to the small outpost at Vidlak Pond. Follow the path behind the fisherman’s house and watch for a large rock formation along the cliffs. Ascend to the rocks to find a chest next to a cross.

Map 3

For the third map, fast travel to Zhelejov and head to the tavern before leaving the settlement. Cross the two bridges towards Tachov, but after the second bridge, take a small path leading to the river and forest. Follow this path to a hill and examine the large tree at its top to find some bones and a bag with the armour.

Map 4

The fourth and final map will guide you to a hill between the Nomads’ Camp and Bozhena’s Hut. On the hill, look for rocks with a cross on top, where you'll find the last piece of Brunswick’s armour.

And that's how you start and complete The Lion’s Crest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. For more tips and detailed information on the game, including romance options and the best perks to prioritize, be sure to check out The Escapist.
