Iansan: The New Bennett Replacement in Genshin Impact?

by Brooklyn May 12,2025

In the world of *Genshin Impact*, Bennett stands out as one of the most useful and beneficial characters, maintaining his relevance since the game's inception. His versatility has made him a staple in many team compositions. However, with the introduction of Iansan in *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, set to launch on March 26, players are buzzing about whether she could be the new "Bennett replacement." Let's delve into the details to see how true this claim might be.

How Does Iansan’s Kit Compare to Bennett’s in Genshin Impact?

Iansan, a 4-Star Electro Polearm character from Natlan, shares the support role with Bennett, focusing on providing DMG buffs and healing. Her Elemental Burst, "The Three Principles of Power," mirrors Bennett's buffing capability but with a unique twist. Instead of requiring characters to stay within a fixed field like Bennett's, Iansan summons a Kinetic Energy Scale that follows your active character, boosting ATK based on her Nightsoul Points.

The ATK bonus from Iansan's scale scales differently depending on her Nightsoul Points. Below 42 out of a maximum of 54 points, the bonus is derived from both her Nightsoul Points and ATK. Above 42 points, it scales purely off her ATK, suggesting a build focused on maximizing her ATK. The scale also encourages movement, as it logs the distance traveled by the active character and restores Nightsoul Points accordingly.

When it comes to healing, Bennett outshines Iansan significantly. Bennett's field can heal up to 70% of the active character's HP, whereas Iansan's healing capabilities are less effective, and she can't heal herself. In terms of elemental infusion, Bennett's C6 constellation allows him to infuse Pyro into the Normal Attacks of the active character, a feature Iansan lacks.

Bennett raises his fist triumphantly.

For exploration, Iansan offers unique advantages. She can consume Nightsoul Points to sprint and jump longer distances without using stamina, providing a different gameplay experience. However, for Pyro teams, Bennett remains the superior choice due to Elemental Resonance, which provides a +25% ATK buff and Pyro infusion.

Should You Choose Iansan or Bennett in Genshin Impact?

While Iansan and Bennett share similarities in their kits, Iansan is not a direct replacement but rather a strong alternative, particularly useful for second-team compositions in the Spiral Abyss. Her Kinetic Energy Scale eliminates the need to stay within a fixed area for buffs, a common strategy dubbed "Circle Impact" by the *Genshin Impact* community, promoting a more dynamic gameplay style.

If you're eager to experience Iansan's unique abilities, you'll have the chance during Phase I of *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, starting March 26.

*Genshin Impact is available to play now.*
