InZOI's Game Director, Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim, has revealed intriguing details about the game's inclusion of unusual and paranormal elements. According to Kim, players will have the unique opportunity to control ghosts, albeit with certain limitations to ensure this feature complements rather than overshadows the core gameplay. This ghostly mechanic is intricately linked to a karma system, which meticulously tracks the actions of characters and significantly influences their future lives, extending its impact even beyond death.
The karma system plays a pivotal role in determining a character's fate after they pass away. Depending on their deeds, characters may either peacefully transition to the afterlife or find themselves as ghosts, doomed to wander among the living. For those who become ghosts, the journey to finally leave the mortal world involves earning the necessary karma points to resolve their unfinished business.

In the early access version of InZOI, ghosts will be present, but players won't yet have the ability to control them. This feature is slated to be added in future updates. The developer has made it clear that InZOI is fundamentally a game about real life, and thus, paranormal elements will be kept subtle. However, Kim hinted at the possibility of introducing other mysterious phenomena to enrich the InZOI experience down the line.
