Marvel Rivals Addresses 30 FPS Damage Bug Affecting Several Heroes

Marvel Rivals players experiencing reduced damage output at lower frame rates (FPS) can breathe a sigh of relief. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations, particularly affecting heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine at 30 FPS. This issue, stemming from the game's client-side prediction mechanism, causes discrepancies in damage dealt compared to higher FPS settings.

The problem, first reported by players noticing inconsistencies in damage from attacks, especially against stationary targets, has been confirmed by a community manager. While Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities were specifically mentioned, a full list of affected heroes and abilities hasn't been released. Heroes such as Magik, Star-Lord, and Venom have also been reported as experiencing similar issues.

While a precise fix date remains unannounced, the developers are actively working on a solution. A significant improvement is anticipated with the launch of Season 1 on January 11th. Should the Season 1 update not completely resolve the issue, the developers have assured players that a future patch will address any remaining problems.

Despite this setback, Marvel Rivals, launched in early December 2025, maintains strong community approval (80% positive rating on Steam with over 132,000 reviews), highlighting its overall positive reception despite early hero balance concerns. The ongoing efforts to address the 30 FPS damage bug further demonstrate the developers' commitment to providing a polished and enjoyable gaming experience.
