METAL SLUG: Awakening Opens Pre-Registration On Android!

Remember the days of arcade battles and frantic button-mashing? Well, it’s kind of making a comeback with this upcoming title by HaoPlay Limited. Set to drop globally on July 18th, 2024, Metal Slug: Awakening is now up for pre-registration.So, Here’s The Scoop!Metal Slug: Awakening is a modern take on the iconic series from the ’90s. It’s already been a bit of a journey for the game. It was initially teased in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J but has had a few delays and name changes. But after its late 2023 debut in Southeast Asia, Metal Slug: Awakening is finally ready for pre-registration.In case you don’t know (I’m almost sure that’s not the case), here’s a bit of an intro about the series. Metal Slug is a Japanese run-and-gun video game series that first dropped in 1996. Originally created by Nazca Corporation, it expanded into a multimedia franchise later.Awakening isn’t Metal Slug’s first foray into mobile gaming. We had Metal Slug Defense back in 2014 and Metal Slug Attack in 2016, followed by Metal Slug Commander in 2020. But I feel like Awakening is here to up the ante with better features.The game is staying true to its roots with classic shooter mechanics but brings in updated graphics and fresh mechanics. Expect to reunite with your beloved Metal Slug characters for new missions.
